1,343 miles and the 20 minutes that killed us
OK, so we dropped off Jacob (and I only teared up twice) and went to the bank and left Tooele around 9:30 a.m. Then we drove. And drove. And drove. And drove. And drove (think of that Pioneer song where they walked and walked and walked). And on mile like 850 I was wondering why we didn't buy plane tickets. On mile 998 I was ready to take a very strong sleep drug and not remember any more. So about mile 1,104 we arrived in Oklahoma City (should I mention it was like 4:30 a.m. and we were TIRED). And we drove up to the address I had in my planner.
Let's take a second here and note that I have been sending cookies, letters and pictures from Ellie to that address for like SIX years.
As we call to ask which house is theirs, David wisely says "You are where? We don't even live in that city." WHAT?!?!!
So 20 minutes later we arrive in the RIGHT city at the RIGHT address and have a lovely 3 hours of sleep.
The next morning we got up and drove to Ft. Smith. That is on the next entry.
