Or should I be counting down by week? I started a number countdown when this all started and we are on Day 19. And nothing really happening until the start of May. I don't think we will go back to school this year.
Here are a few pictures of what is up. Lot of music - Ellie and Ashley are playing each other's instruments. Home band continues. Michael is blowing away on the saxophone. It is fun.
Saturday, we made breakfast sausages (about 20 pounds), repotted out little tomato plants into bigger soil lumps. Then I made a roulande - it was good but next I will try a different recipe. Happy hand-washing!
This was also the 45 minute line we stood in when we went to Costco.
We are the Happy Herrons. I, the writer of this blog, am the adoring wife of Josh, happy mom to Ellie, Ashley and Michael. I have amazing friends and love to bake (even if it is gluten-free).

Start the gardening!
We went and got seeds this weekend. Josh planted a flat of stuff and I am organizing the flowers. I am also working hard on where new flowers, asparagas and strawberries will go. Oh, and the raspberries.
Josh got a truck and we went and got a huge load of mulch (with the slaves who were participating in their P.E. class for the day). We filled up all the veg beds and turned the dirt, etc. I need to go tomorrow and re=plant the raspberries. I don't think we are ready for the whisteria or strawberries yet. Might get the peas in tomorrow.
We are doing good. Getting more of a schedule. Kids will be out of school until the first of May. Next week is spring break, so we will see how that goes. Hard not to go out, but I SO want to go see Heather! Here is our yard, shaping up nicely! And a robin!

Weekend together
Still looking good! Michael and Ellie played rock and monster (I think?) fighting for like an hour the other night. Pictures were required.
Here are some homework examples we have been doing. Also a cute meme the kids found and recreated - something about smokin' homework.

Real post that I originally posted!
We have been home mostly together all week and things are going fine. The middle school lessened the homework load - which is a big relief for Ash, she has been spending 8 hours on homework a day!
Technology has be en an issue on a few of the assignments. But we aer good for next week.
We have lots of hobbies to do and it is nice to spend some time apart after getting our works done.
SLCC starts its online classes next week, so I am going to take Monday and set somethings up. I am pretty familiar with the technology (thanks BYU-I!) so I am not too worried.
BYU-I is NOT having any on-campus classes in the spring, so we will see what happens with the online classes.
We started our garden after a lovely trip to the plant nursery (just nursery always throws me thinking about babies). Looking for big changes in our yard - we need some dirt and lots of slave labor!
The kids won't be going back to school until April 13. We would only have had one week between quarantee and spring break, so it is probably smart.
Josh can telework basically as long he wants. It's nice to have him at home to be the bad-homework-cop. I am working on some little pillows for my seesters and Bugs. Cooking lots (most people said they would gain less than 10 pounds - we are baking and cooking every day!! The gym is closed and I don't like that. We will see. Will try to walk more this week and ride bike at least twice. Exercise is good, but it is suppose to be colder and maybe even snowy this week. And cloudy. Frowny face.
That is our update.
And there was an earthquake on Wednesday!!! I woke up to things shaking in the room - I some how

Week 1 of lock down
AHAHAH! I totally wrote up a nice summary of Week 1 of lock down and I felt like to save it and I did not. So will try to re-create.
Kids have been off since Friday, March 13. Excelsior is doing school via Google Classroom. We are all figuring out the technology. The first week Ashley was doing 7-9 hours of homework a day! Ellie was doing like 15 minutes. So then the middle school adjusted the plans and now it is much better. Moo has homework and he grumps about doing it - but he does.
I made everyone come up with a list of other things to learn/do - cook, bake, dinner boss, talent, etc. So that is going ok.
I LOVE being home. I work on both my colleges' work (SLCC is online til the end of the semester. I have a plan, just need to go through and set some things up - will take a bit of time.) BYU-I is not holding on-campus classes this spring!! I have a contract to teach online but wonder if they will be offering more, to try and get more students through the semester.
I have actually gotten to work on crafties, music, baking, etc. It has been awesome. Currently working on pillows for my seesters. They need borders.......
Josh has been home for a week now. He is doing all of his training and comes in very handy as the bad cop during homework disputes.
None of us are crazy yet! Josh gets up at 6 (sleeping in) - we try to get the teenagers out of bed before 11. Homework and then we just go our separate ways and do stuff and have dinner together.
Here is all of us working away!

At home
As you are aware - we are under stay-at-home orders. Yah!! My SLCC classes are only online for the rest of the semester. The kids are out for two weeks, then a week of school, and a week of spring break! (We'll see how that goes).
Anyway I have TOTALLY enjoyed not having to get up at a specific time. The homework has started rolling in for the kids in their 'online' studies. That is good. Josh is home 'for the foreseeable future." But we are not just sitting around. Yet. Crafties and music will abound! Here are some things we are doing. Ash got an IKEA desk and put it together and rearranged her room. I am working on some sewing crafties. And want to bake more. And working on my classes. And reading my 30 library books. And painting some more. So far I am loving it! It was super sunny and warm today. That was nice. But colder and cloudy for a few days. Well, happy at home time!

Spring!!
Here is the new chair I desperately want for my yard!!
And here come the corcuses - totally out and blooming today. Along with a cheery amount of daffodiles. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Concert
The girls had a concert and Grandma and Auntie got to come (I should have taken a picture with them!)
AnywayAshley got to play in a quartet as you entered (it didn't quite work out). She and Ellie both played their song and looked good. Ellie had a solo.
Here are the cool new pillow cases I found. And the girls doing a rare practice together.
And here is the trampoline on its way out of the house.

Montana
Being such fancy travelers now - we decided to head to Montana on our next school break!
We went up and saw Grandpa and Grandma Susan. Susan was having her hip replaced two days after we left, so she was trying to soldier through. Apparently everything went well and she is up walking around. But now she gets a month off to recover. Good thing we are all at home anyway!
We got to go to a Maker;s Fair while we were there. It was pretty cool. You got to do a whole bunch of crafites and it was awesome. Here are some pictures. Darby and Romeo got to hang out - they got along pretty good and Romeo didn't even mind the 10 hours trip. He just sat on the floor or someone's lap the whole time. Ashley's picture of a bridge on the way home.
