Ah, the olden days

Guess what I found (at some old electronic store Josh wandered around in for a long time)! Ah, back in the day when you needed several of these to survive college!
And, ah, the day price-matching worked! I took this picture and said it was one of the saddest days this year. And the lady behind me was totally nodding in agreement and mentioned her sadness also at the price-match loss.

Piano recital

This year the girls played at their piano recital, and did pretty darn good!
The teacher (and my friend) Miss Ariel, asked me to play a duet with her! So we did! And we kept on playing, and no one threw up, and it was all good.

Stuff only Josh took pictures of

I will get ahold of his camera and upload/explain here!

Temple Square

Auntie K wanted to go see the Christmas light for her present, so (since Josh has been off work since Nov. 30) we headed on over to see the lights. It was only moderately cold! But pretty. We are there, unlit, at the very bottom of the big temple pic.

The Piano Guys

As a surprise I got the family tickets to The Piano Guys earlier this month. Yah!  A cello AND a piano! Perfect. Well, of course, I got the cheap seats - WAAAY up. Michael almost hyperventilated on the way up (apparently he hates heights). We got there like an hour early. But it was all good. My favorite part was when the cellist said "If you are out there and your parents are making you take music lessons, keep at it. Because one day it will feel like you are flying with the music." True. And Glorious.

Cooking attempts

So I love pie, but is it really smart to eat a whole pie yourself? Not really. So Heather found me these awesome half-pie pans on-line! This is my first attempt. The pecan pie (while delicious) leaked. The blueberry was awesome. FYI. And then there is the attempted pecan roll. I really love pecan rolls. Apparently it is harder to roll the cameral on than I thought. But they tasted great!

Therapists

You might remember last year I was just SOSOOS frustrated by Michael's behavior - refusing to go to school - running after me when I dropped them off - huge tantrums. So finally I came home in tears and finally thought, "Wait, foster care has not deserted me!" So I called around and 10 days later a therapist appeared (ok, he had an appointment) at our door!
So now Michael sees Mr. Steven every two weeks and they talk about stuff (feelings, what to do when you are having a HUGE feeling, etc) - they mainly eat candy and hang out from what I can see.
Miss Liz came originally, but we decided Michael might like a man better. So she still sees ME (and the girls). This is called the family therapy part. I am so grateful for this service and their work to help our family with adoption and how to deal with our  big feelings. (Also thank you tax-payers).
