Yep, our church-men sponsored a daddy-kid campout this weekend and Josh (the beloved) TOOK ALL THE KIDDOS!
Grandma and I stayed home. We napped, I introduced her to eating ice cream out of the carton on the sofa, and we went shopping and out to dinner (we had breakfast). And then we slept in!
Here are the brave campers!
Here is a dirty, tired little boy AFTER the camping trip.
One thing that did not get done, was cleaning the house. Because we were working on being 'human beings, not human doings.'
But here is the pile of crap I pulled out from under the girls beds' when we did get around to cleaning.
Then Ellie went off to a birthday party and we finished unpacking the
camping and getting ready for Emma's (birthday party #2) event. (Fortunately, the rest of the campers had a little nap on the way there).
Emma's birthday was EPIC! There was facepainting..
of course wonderful and amazing food
Tunnels with jeweled beaches at the end
There were also flying pony machines (The theme was "Pony it up.") those flying sticks and necklaces to make with our found jewels. VERY popular.
Newborn Adele was a great hit in her cutie froggie outfit.
And did I mention the girls got new bikes! (before the party)
Here are some action shots of the girls on their 20 inch fancy-pancy bikes!
And Josh fixing his bike that took me for a bad ride (my hip still hurts)
Now we are going to ride to swimming every day! Happy Sunday!
We are the Happy Herrons. I, the writer of this blog, am the adoring wife of Josh, happy mom to Ellie, Ashley and Michael. I have amazing friends and love to bake (even if it is gluten-free).

SLC 7 Peaks here we come
Yes, after a summer of...too cold, too hot, too tires. Heather and I and the kiddos ventured off to the 7 Peaks SLC. It was pretty cool (and I do mean some of those pools were LITERALLY COLD). But there was a lot of walking for the smaller ones. But the lazy river had no 'drop offs of death!'
Then I made these CUTE coconut crust peach tarts.
And some pictures from swimming lessons part 2. Both Ellie and Ashley will be in the level III class next week (in the big pool). Moo will be in preschool 2.
And then Grandma was here a few days for stories, therapy, dish-doing (I swear I didn't do a dish in three days!) and general fun and merryment. See you Tuesday!
