Well the first week of school has gone well. Everyone has a friend, a recess activity (building 'nests' for birds),and loves their teachers.
I made another pie - peach (here is the yummy gluten free crust). Because I also inherited Grandma Herron's pie book!! Yep, that is worth a whole other blog, but here it is- yum!
Here is our garden harvest for this week: carrots, beets, tomatoes, a strawberry (the other four were eaten during the week) and rhubarb.
Here is how the gardens are looking (very nice):
Here is Josh working our compost piles:
We made the kiddos clean out all the wood and trash they put in the
sandbox. Here is what we got (not a red snake, a red plastic handle)
Then Josh had the brilliant idea of putting a hammock up under the jungle gym. So he found one on clearance and fixed it up! Very popular!
Then to be totally crafty (after a delightful 2 hour nap), I made homemade pizza WITH homemade sauce from our own tomatoes!!
Ellie and Ashley are in a dress up phase of life and both came to pizza dinner 'dressed up fancy.'
Have a good week! I am going to help out at school Monday, so we will have a report about that.
