Spring Break part 2

LAS VEGAS baby!!!
And then Dad announced he would take 10 of his acquired 12 hours of vacation time off and we could go early to Las Vegas!!!! for Thursday and Friday. I booked us a cheap hotel and off we went with some ideas. The six hour drive was not bad. Michael could have used more books. Then we checked it. The kids freaked out with the cigarette smoke and wandered around a bit. Josh figured we could save some money on our attractions if we went to the local military base so we moosed over there.
We decided to go to the Excalibur show where there are knight and jousting and you eat dinner with your hands. It was pretty dang cool and even Josh got into the spirit of things.
Then the next day we finally found some breakfast and Ellie and Moo and I went and sat in the pool for literally 15 minutes then we got dressed and went to …… The AdventureDome!
There were roller coasters, flip-you-upside down things, giggly things, and ROLLER STAKES! A great time was had by all. Then we drove home again.
Dad got us a book on tape, which helped.
The Korth's had Romeo for the night and day. They brought him back (cause we still driving) and he was there when we came home. Nice.
Then we got to sleep in our own beds. But my legs were so sore from so much walking! But so fun to be together. Only about 60 days til summer vacation!!!
And then it snowed this morning in Tooele. Ah Spring!

Spring Break part 1

Well at least I had a delightful Spring Break last week. And it was mostly sunny and warmish
Monday we had lazy day.
Tuesday was go see the Butterflies (and dinosaurs-because I think they are cool) at Thanksgiving Point. Many pictures by Ashley will follow.
Wednesday we celebrated the first day of Spring and I look Ellie, Michael and various friends to the swimming pool.

Concert and crafty

Here is a cute pic of our puppy and Michael.
Also in the news:
1)Ashley had a band concert and it was quite delightful. Ellie also had a concert, but I didn't get a picture. Also, this is our friend Kevin. There are just a huge amount of kids and it was hard to see her through the lens.
2) I finished my crafty!!! All 12 squares!! Should I make the quilt? Just hang up blocks? I am looking for advice.

I have been saving pictures!

Seriously, blogging has been on my to do list for like months...……but now I have more to write about.
1) Hot Pot
Josh and I took Auntie and Mom out for lunch one day when we were in Provo. We decided to Hot Pot! It was yummy then and we figured the kids would like it. So we bought the equipment. And did it one day. They LOVED it! And it is pretty easy. Here is our success, even if they don't look very happy.
2) Carpet
Josh got a bonus for signing onto the government working and we decided to do three things; First, pay off his student loan, second get new carpet, three big a big TV.
So we called around and this one place had a guy in our ward working there - so we got a bishop discount!
This gets longer. So they came and did the upstairs. Then they did the downstairs (with us moving all the furniture around for all of this - like in my kitchen for three weeks).
It turned out the TV room floor had settled 1-3 inches. Josh and I had talked about leveling the floor so Josh Jensen knew a guy and a week later he came over with some cement and "leveled" it. NOT! Now there were BIG ups and downs all around the room. So the carpet guy had to be rescheduled. Guy came back and put down MORE leveling stuff. Now there are just big waves over by the desk. Anyway, mom was finally like "get the freak done with it." The carpet guy came back and we moved the 900 pounds of furniture back. Then Josh took another  week to get all of the electronics back. Anyway. That is the store. The big TV is nice! I am paying off the loan this week.
3) And here is Ellie working on the fifteen 15!?!??!?!? missing math assignments before the term ended. Doesn't she look happy? She is already missing two assignments a week into the new term. Ideas?
4) I got new glasses for first time in at least six years. They ARE progressive (bifocal) lenses and I LOVE them!! You can see clearly far away and clearly close by. Awesome!
