Just in case...

You ever need to bring potatoes to the ward party, so you can make sure everyone gets a carb to eat, you can fix 20 pounds of potatoes in your oven at one time.

Then put them in a cooler to keep them warm until  the next batch is done and then take them to the church!

Some of my favorite people

 The annual Bluemlein girl picture...

This year we also included Mom

Bluemlein party!

So we headed down to Orem on Monday for the Bluemlein party. There was general merriment, a while at the Provo pool (totally fun), cookie decorating, rice pudding and gifts. A wonderful time.

Also notice the HUGE gift that Uncle David sent everyone...

Wedding dress makes an appearance

Ashley loves to try on my wedding dress every once in a while. This time she did make up and the veil

Parties!

As we enter vacation time, it is family party time!

I went down early to spend a day with Heather and Max. A good, gluten-free time, was had by all.

Then a few days later, we motored on up to the Herron party. Another good time was had by all - including some Fantastic alfredo sauce made by Katie.

Jim Gaffigan!!!

We got to go see Jim Gaffigan in concert on Friday. He was SOSOSOS funny. And his opener was SOSOSO funny. Josh laughed the whole time and Ashley and Michael were laughing so hard that people turned around to look at them.

You are not allowed to take bags at all into the show, so I had to leave my bag at a bag check, weird huh?

A good time was had by all, we had dinner at IHop and Ashley found a pretty ornament for the tree.

Also this week Ashley and Michael were home from school (Dumb colds), so we went to see Heather and Max and we had a delightful time together.

And also this week we had our first snowflake party. It snowed about two inches (so it looks all pretty and Christmasy). So we had cocoa and cookies when the kids came home and everyone (even Gavin) made a snowflake or two for the wall.

One week and the kids are mine!!!

Surprise!

Josh had a chance to get some 4-wheelers from Katie and brought them home. Michael screamed with delight. He and Dad went driving yesterday to his great happiness. Go nature-driving people!

Christmas

We put up the tree and had good chocolate! A good time was had by all and we are celebrating another wonderful season about Jesus.

Outings

We have been on several fun outings lately. The kids and  I went to the Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolate Factory and ate chocolates!

Michael and I went with Kellie and Erin to the SLC library - yah books!

Kellie and Debbie and I went to a sushi place in SLC that had GF sushi, but horrible service.

We cleaned out the garage so Mom could park the van inside again.

And we went to the Zoo with Team Lewis. I have NEVER seen so many animals being so active. Max was like the animal charmer. I am never not going at dusk again, it was aweseome!

Concerts and turkeys

Ellie performed with the TVY Symphony on Wednesday, playing the cello. It was a delightful concert with a wonderful solo.

Michael played in the beginning band concert on Thursday and did a great job on the trumpet. I love my kids are musical.

Ashley is performing in Much Ado About Nothing on Thursday.

We also fried (two) turkeys for Thanksgiving. They were pretty good, but I don't feel the desire to make another one next year. But they looked very brown and crispy!

Our cow

Papa Smurf has been carefully growing us a cow all summer - even going out in the evening to give it a snack.

Well, as it happens all good things come to an end and then cow met the butcher.

Now we have 600 pounds of cow!! We went and got another freeze, Josh drove around all day, our friends helped us unload and now we are sitting nice and sweet on our winter food storage . Thanks Papa Smurf!

New driver and tech man

Ashley is excited to drive where ever she can now. Today she drove herself to school (with mom in the passenger seat).

Michael did tech for the middle school play. He was awesome and enjoyed being 'back stage.'

Archery!

So there was a good deal on archery lessons - so we went! It was pretty fun, there were some sore arms after- but not too bad. I won't be killing deer out in the wilderness anytime soon though.

Ashley loves to dress up

Ashley loves to get all fancy-dress and get some pictures. Here she is! Also Dad read Ellie "Fox in Socks" to her great delight (I do totally hate that book - all those dumb words). Also Moo got his first shot- one step closer to Spain! And all the kids got their passport info sent in (go Mom).
