Fancy!!!

So I finally got around to dropping off the mini-van to get the rear door fixed (after the little kid on an ATV ran into it TWICE on our camping trip) at the dealership. I have only been there 4 times in the past two years.

So Michael and I drop it off and go to the rental place. She says "I will give you a blah blah blah." Me "OK."

So we sit there a while and we go out there is this;

I'm like " WHAT!!! Does my $35 a day car=allowance cover this?"

Apparently it did.

So Michael is beyond excited. We drive home. He's like "Mom, can we take my friends for a drive?"

"Sure!!" So we pick up Jeffery and some friend and I take them out to the Depot and drive around fast and stop and go fast and stuff and he is like "You are the best mom EVER!!" Yep, yep I am.

So then the next day I am going to see my therapist (because these kids are making me crazy) and I get pulled over right there on I-80.

Apparently I was going over 80 when I pulled in front of a police car.

He was very nice. I was like "Wanted a mini van...goes so fast...didn't know..." He had pity on me and I got a warning,

The rest of the week went smoothly. Except I think the car broke my hip. We will see.

Pedaling

I would like to announce, that after 13 years of playing the organ in the Tooele Third Ward, I pedaled a song!!

Choose the Right. I made most of the note AND I did not even freak out. This is a super big deal. I am taking lessons with the goal to play in the Tooele Temple when it is finished. Go feet!

Houses and hens

Josh and I  have looked at two houses this weekend. Both $685,000. OUCH!!!

But land! Touch choice. We decided to stay put and do our projects. Our hens are very happy.

Kylina got her hairs cut super short!! Cute!!

Friends and stuff

Michael has been playing, friends are coming over, life continues as normal.

Football season

Michael has started a season of flag football. The Cowboys won their first game and I was proud to get some action shots. My football mommy friend told me to bring a chair, water and shade and it made the game fine.

Zoo

Since we have our zoo pass and some friends in the summer, we took some to the zoo. It was totally fun! It is nice to not feel stressed out about seeing everything, we can come back another day!

Kylina and Ellie also attended and Ashley did some sitting and watching and drawing.

Bugs comes to play!!

It's always fun when Bugs comes, when Bugs comes we're gay.... (sing to old Primary song).

My dear dear friend Bugs came all the way from Chicago to play! (OK, she also dropped her daughter off at USU, stayed with her mom and visited her like 700 other besties). Anyway... she came to see me too!

There was eating, lots of talking, definately peach cobbler, more talking and some dressing up. Ashley, Ada and Gracie had a fine old time. Go girls!! Go friends!!

Another adventure

We went to the House of Mystery, where personally, I have wanted to go to 20 years. So we took the kids! It was pretty cool - but even cooler was the explanations Josh gave of everything.  Some of it was pretty hokey. But the kids loved it. After we went to the classic Montana Maze. Josh and I made it in 30 minutes!

We drove home the next day and made it in 10 hours and 13 minutes - a record!  Romeo had been dropped off at our house by the excellent-pet-sitters-Korths and he was VERY happy to see us.

Another fun day we went to...

Glacier Park! It is so pretty. Apparently this year you have to have a ticket to enter. BUT if you go before 6 a.m. or after 5 p.m., you do NOT need a ticket. So one day we got up at 4 a.m. and drove into the park. We drove in at 5:48 a.m. We already  had a parks pass, so I didn't feel guilty about not stopping to pay. We drove up the Going To The Sun road and parked up at the top and then hiked to the Hidden Lake.

This is apparently Josh wanted to propose! But no, I wanted to be back in America, so he drove home late, late at night, in a snow storm, while I slept. If that is not love.....

It was so pretty and we saw some mountain goats. Michael complained along the route, but Ashley loved it. When we got back, the parking lot was CRAZY!!  There were like 2 cars waiting for every spot. When we came down, a lady came up and said she would pay us $40 for our parking space. So I said "Yes!" It was a pretty sweet deal!

Injury and ropes

On the first day - Ellie fell on a rock when she was in the lake and got a good sized cut on the bottom of her foot. I was feeling all emergency prepared as I wrapped up her foot. We headed to the doctor the next day, I figured she might need a tetanus shot. Apparently not, as her 7th grade shots were still in effect. Also, the nurses did nothing more than I had done the night before - they even forgot the antiobiotic lotion! Go preparedness me.

When we went on the ropes course, her foot was too ouchy. She had been wanting to go for several years, so was super disappointed. Ashley and Michael went and said it was pretty fun.

Then the adventures began!

The Herron girls are so good at finding fun things to do! One day we went on a cruise around the Flathead Lake. It was fun to see all the gorgeous cabins and the boat captain gave a nice informational commentary.

House

The first few days in Montana the big kids painted Grandpa and Susan's house a cheery yellow. They cleaned up the backyard, tilled the garden, chopped down trees, etc. It was a busy time. I made dinner for three nights so they could just come to the cabin and eat!  Here is the cabin. We got the downstairs and Michael slept in the living room. It was nice and cool in the basement! There was swimming, Moo worked on catching a fish, boating, etc. a good time was had by all until Josh did a somersault off the dock and hyperextended his knee. Poor pooky.

Updates

So summer has been coming along. We have not been crazy busy this summer - it has been SO hot! Romeo still likes me best, even through we had to take him to get shaved again. Clotted hair/wounds. I found a new FAVORITE treat - a Clio bar - like eating greek yogurt covered in dark chocolate!

The girls  got 'debit' cards to practice managing their money.

We DID go to Montana - where I scored 18 canning jar lids!! Mom, Heather and  Aunt Wanda apparently want them all - so too bad for you.
