Yes, we are still alive. We are waiting for Heather to find another place to print our 2016 blog book because apparently blogspot no longer does that - hello?
Josh and I craftied up the parlor this weekend.
Check out the cute winter stuff I found at a local store! Man, Heather watch out, here I craft-along.
We are the Happy Herrons. I, the writer of this blog, am the adoring wife of Josh, happy mom to Ellie, Ashley and Michael. I have amazing friends and love to bake (even if it is gluten-free).

Funerals
I love my new calling as compassionate service leader. I have been in a month and we have had two funerals (well, the second is tomorrow). All good, All good. I LOVE service the sisters of our ward!
We got a picture at the first one. Tomorrow's will be much smaller with fewer helpers.

CHECK YOUR SMOKE ALARMS
Josh left some airplane batteries on the charger Friday night. Then at 11:30 p.m. all three smoke alarms went off and off and off. Josh gets out of bed and tries to turn the smoke alarms off (ours our VERY sensitive and have been known to go off spontaneously - even when the oven is just ON, not smoking or anything. The neighbors have even had to come over once or twice to make sure we were ok - the alarms go off a lot.)
Anyway, he realized something was really on fire and remembered what it was and ran downstairs.
The charger was literally on fire. So he grabbed the fire extinguisher (thank you foster care regulations!) and put it out, but it fell on the carpet and burned a hole. I was upstairs reviewing in my mind our fire escape plan (thank you foster care requirements!). But he wasn't yelling, so I figured it was not a total emergency.
Anyway, everything was ok in the end. Josh even got the carpet replaced exactly where the burn was. The moral of this story is CHECK your SMOKE DETECTORS!!
The fire was next to some balsa wood, which was next to a basket of fabric, which was next to the towers of fabric, etc. So they really did save us!

No news
We have thoroughly cleaned all three floors and have minor carrot evidence, but no carrot house. There are three traps in the house and none of them have been touched Hum. That is the update.

Carrot
The carrot has not yet been discovered. I have cleaned the house top to bottom (ugh) and dejunked. There was some mouse carrot evidence. Hum. Well I will keep you updated.
Snow shoe
I have got to get a new camera figured out, so I feel inclined to do more stuff, to take more pictures, do blog more! As a foster family, we got the opportunity to go on a very cheap snow showing adventure with Splore. It was awesome! They drove us up to Millcreek Canyon, brought all the stuff, showed us the basics and even fed us lunch! Here is the one picture my camera got. I think it is actually a .6 second video. I hope it can get on the blog book (which Heather informs me that blogger is no longer doing - whatever!!)
Nope, I will see what Josh has on his phone.

Sledding
So we decided to break in all our new snow gear and went sledding on the 'slides of death' at the local hill. There was a lot of laughing and having fun. Mom is definitely feeling her age after the third tumble down the hill.
Happy day!
Guess what? Josh and I have finally completed a LONG time goal - we made a real honest-to-goodness budget! Here my cutie is finishing it up. Man, there are a LOT of things to spend money on!
