Updates

We have survived the wedding and everyone has gotten home safely. Uncle Dave came to visit before he left on Tuesday and brought.... LEGOS!!
We are VERY much a lego family now.
Josh and the girls were stretched out on the floor for about an hour this evening and the girls probably spent three more hours just today making stuff. Awesome!!

Happiest birthday week EVER!!

So I was searching the internet this week and discovered I LOVE flash mobs!!! (When a random group of people show up and all have practiced the same dance and do it spontaneously in some square or mall). It is like a musical in real life. LOVE IT!! (remember this for later)

So after Friday's wedding and reception (which went great) and the clean up. Then we got home at 11:30 p.m. with sore feet. The next day was cousin Luke's baptism in SLC so the the Herrons went off to that and then stopped by the mall to check my ring size (for upcoming birthday on Thursday). I got a very pretty sparkly necklace that it made up of different kinds of gems:
And a fabulous picture that I love:

And a cake stand!! (so come over and eat cake with us!)

Saturday night mom, Auntie K. and I went to the community theater production of "The King and I" which was really good.
Sunday we had a delightful morning and I played the organ and taught Sunbeams and the ladies went to Primary and Sunday School, accordingly. After church I planned a 10 minute nap and slept for two hours! Thanks for the nap mom!!
Josh grilled us up some hot dogs and we had a lovely dinner. THEN....
Heather sat down and played "Our shopping, shopping, shopping" song and my FAMILY did a FLASH MOB for me!!!!! It was AWESOME!!!!
I HAVE the best family EVER!!! And Josh even started the dancing off. Hehehehe. SOSO cute!!
And my lovely seester Sara had made me an alligator cake (the cake I always wanted for my birthday growing up). It was the best pre-birthday EVER!!!!!

The family arrives!!

This week, in prelude to the wedding, our family arrived in Utah! First of all was mom/grandma, then Auntie K., Aunt Sara, Uncle David and Uncle John. It was pretty fun, especially when Uncle Dave took us all to Tuscano's for lunch!!
Here are the girl's enjoying their cake for dessert and then giving Uncle Dave a big hug:

John and baby Ben:

Then the wedding was on Friday - yah Holly and Matt!! We are sosos glad they are married and the wedding was so happy. (not so many pictures - see Heather's blog):

Long time, lotta stuff

It has been several adventure-filled days since our last post, so here is a semi-chronological run down of our days.
1) We had Bugs and family over for dinner last Sunday. Ellie drove her birthday robot-car off the counter top (just after it had been repaired) and shattered the top. Josh fixed it (mostly):

That week Bugs and I took the kiddos on down to the  Discovery Gateway (we had some awesome-priced passes) and enjoyed FIVE hours of fun! (I don't think we have ever managed to spent that much time there on our own). Everyone had a GREAT time:
(playing in the pretend store, house, mail-route, farm and construction area took a LOT of time)
There is a 'new' area for summer about experiencing stuff. But Bugs and I were both confused by all the instuctions, so the kiddos just played on everything:

There is a big area with a whole bunch of different kinds of blocks, magnet blocks, etc. VERY popular:

This weekend, Josh had fun chalk painting the girls:

He is a very good artist. What a great daddy also. I hope you  had a nice Father's Day love! We appreciate you!

Anyone want to loan us....

Hear ye, hear ye....if anyone out there wants to loan us $48,000 (USD) we would be excited to adopt three-month old white twin boys. What a bargain! Just let us know -  we (and the adoption agency) take PayPal, check, cash and credit cards.

Busy, busy Monday

Man, we have been busy!! We biked to the school to turn in our reading minutes ( do NOT ride a street bike (that likes to drive 16+ mph) with the training wheel bikers (who like to drive about 3 mph). There are stopping issues, etc. But it turned out fine. I realized we have never biked to school together. We got little gliders for prizes and new books to read.
After that we went to the store together and got milk and eggs.
We stopped by the Herrings, loaded up, and went bowling! It was fun as always and I don't think I will be as sore this week!! Ellie and I bowled a 140!!
Of course, then we needed lunch and a little cartoon time. This afternoon I mowed the lawn, cleaned out the shed, weed wacked (a LOT - around the neighorhood sidewalks so the girls can ride their bikes without being eaten by weeds) and watered. The girls LOVE watering the lawn (and themselves, of course).
Finally, we enjoyed dinner, reading, family night, showers, way more reading and bed. Yah! Josh is off on a night test this week so we are not really sure when we will see him again (just kidding, he does come home every one in a while to get new clothes). Maybe tomorrow we will go see Auntie Heather. The girls are CRAZY about cousin Ben. I am going to lay on my massager my sweetie got me for Christmas. We are having a very nice life. Leave a comment!

Our beautiful Ashley

Guess what we FINALLY got? Ashley's baby picture:
She is so georgous, I can't stop staring at her! Gwynn, I am putting yours in the mail right now!!!

A nice weekend

Friday was free day at "This is the Place" State Park. So of course we (and half of Utah) went! After waiting in line, just to get onto the road that leads to the place, we got a parking spot. Here are some of the things we saw:
Cows:

A loom:

We wacked rugs, like they did in the old days:

Practiced washing clothes in the old timey way:
 Petted/chased sheeps:

We did NOT stand in line for 45 minutes for a two ounce free ice cream, however.
At home the next day, the neighbors broke out the first-of-the-year slip-n-slide  - to much acclaim:
Today the girls let me put hot rollers in their hair.
See how it turned out! (experimenting will continue)

Happy nice week of summer!

Another adventure

Saturday Bugs invited me to a wonderful concert in SLC and we went BY OURSELVES!! (no small kiddos) WOW!! It was nice - thanks Bugs!
Did I post these pics? We got some cute birthday dresses and dinosaur hats and here are the lovely models:
Also, during a de-junk of the downstairs , I 'found' these dolls that great-grandma Wilde gave the girls, along with a huge number of hand-sewed clothes:
So Tuesday Bugs and I took the kiddos to the Church Art and History Museum downtown. It was pretty fun, and we even expired our meters we were so busy playing. There was a part on church history, along with a handcart to practice on:
Then upstairs there was a big exhibit on quilts, and you could make your own quilt pattern on the magnetic wall.

Then you could 'quilt' with these big blocks.
You could practice building blocks (and knocking them down!)
And another area where you could put on these cool skirts and videos showed you how to dance (VERY popular):

Last night (FINALLY) our cool pear tree arrived (four kinds of pears on esplier-ed branches) and Josh and Nate got it all nicely planted. I will water it today. Happy Wednesday!
