So recently I have beent thinking a lot and researching a lot about preschool. Montessori? Home-preschooling? AH! And the more I read the more I would be freaking out that I was NOT doing enough for Ellie and Ashley.
What if they have bad handwriting in five years? What if they don't know the biological classifications? What if they don't like music composers? What if they can't run the 100 yard dash? I mean some of these books are FREAKING intense!
So I was feeling a bit worried and incapable of teaching preschoolers.
Then I went to church and realized there are a LOT more important things in life than academic stuff that they have years and years to learn. And we will have tons of fun learning all that stuff, listening to music, running 100 yards, etc., etc.
So I decided to focus our 'academic' life more on life skills, being good people, having fun, being kind, getting along, etc.
That might be sort of common sense, but I just wanted to let you know we are going to have fun this summer. I am pretty sure we will be enrolling Ellie in a preschool setting two days a week this fall and Ashley can go to play school for a bit more. Life is good.
Also today we were out of flour (well, I am NOT opening my sealed food storage stuff) and there was no bread, and it was cold! So I ground wheat and made bread. As you might have known, I have been trying for years and years to make good bread (seriously like 500+ pounds of flour). Well today I tried kneeding it for a LONG time (which may be weird, because I do have an AWESOME K.itchenAid mixer and it's not even any work at all). And look how good my 100% whole wheat bread turned out! Yah!
