Coop

Yep, we ordered a a chicken coop a few weeks ago and it arrived this week!
The nesting boxes where the yummy eggs with be laid!

It is HEAVY!! But Josh and I (with the help of a rolly-dolly thing) moved it to the backyard.
And then we painted it so it would last longer. It took a long time.

And then this morning the smoke detector ran out of battery and starting (VERY ANNOYINGLY) beeping every like 1.5 minutes. So me, the mountain woman, hauled out the HUGE ladder, figured out how to open it, wrenched it up to the top of the sky and replaced the battery. Go me!
And here is all done! We got the bigger feeders today and might move them in before school (chicks are a POWERFUL get-out-of-bed tool).

Chicks growing up

Yep, our little chicks are getting bigger - here is another pre-school photo shoot!

More cousins!

As you know Uncle Mike has been staying with us (best house guest ever!) Well his family came up from Vegas this week to look for more houses and play with us!

Free range chickens

So we let the chickens out to explore the grass - the children were totally entertained and the chickens were probably terrified of the huge humans chasing them!

New bike

Michael, who is growing lots, got a new bike! His old one he was pedaling up to his ears - so daddy brought home a surprise one day!
In other news, we discovered several suspicious holes and run water from TWO hoses into this hole for 40 minutes and nothing came out any holes  - but no new holes have been discovered - so we're hoping we're mole/badger/small crawely thing free

Chicks

The chicks have gotten so big that we moved them out to the greenhouse (with the heat lamp of course).
One flew out the bin in the laundry room so we figured it was time for a move.

We also moved the citrus trees out to the greenhouse so they could get used to the outside.

And we planted the broccoli and bok choy! (come and enjoy some in about 8 weeks)

Sunny day with our cousins

We have had some nice sunny days recently - and Emma and Ben came to play ! (along with their driver Aunt Heather) Aunt Holly came, driving Adele, and a fabulous time was had by all!

The aunties sat in the sun and enjoyed it all

It was a busy day full of fun, cousins and toys!
