We got back from the Grand Canyon. Had Monday off. Went to school/work on Tuesday. It started snowing Tuesday night and didn't stop until Thursday. More snow in a 24 hour period in the last 30 years. So no school/work on Wed or Thursday! I love being home with the family! HUGE piles of snow. Yah snow!! Send more!! Suppose to be another storm coming - with several more feet in the mountains. There is a lot of white stuff up there.! 26 inches in Tooele.
We are the Happy Herrons. I, the writer of this blog, am the adoring wife of Josh, happy mom to Ellie, Ashley and Michael. I have amazing friends and love to bake (even if it is gluten-free).

We were the cool dinner double date (and a few others)
So Francie and Mark Bullock have been our friends for a long time. Friday we asked them out on a date! We went to the semi-new Huy-Hees restaurant. I made a reservation, they picked us up and off we went!
It was delightful. They had some GF options. I even got to eat and appetizer! We were laughing and talking - we were the cool couples eating out! One of my dreams! So hopefully we will do it again soon.
Also here are the chickens (still alive, but I think we should get two new ones for the summer).
The ward had a square dancing activity - it was awesome! And I ever got a picture of Ellie.
Grand Canyon
So for President's Day we (me) decided to motor down to the Grand Canyon! We stopped at Las Vegas to spend two nights,
The first day we arrived, checked into our suite (I don't think we can ever go back to one room - so smushy). Then we went to the Latino flea market that Josh found online. We all got a piece of jewelery and then moosied by the food court. It was awesome! I swear it was like drink an actual pineapple with Michael's drink and a real watermelon with Ellie's. Michael and Josh got street tacos. I had pupusas with plantains and beans. It turns out Ellie and Ashley had Chinese (whatever). Then we went home.
Saturday we got up and had breakfast at our bar (in the room) and starting driving to the Canyon (4 hours each way). It was pretty cool. I want to kids to remember what it feels like to realize you are a tiny speck in the universe. It was also cold and slippery. So we drove to Vegas. And tried this GF fish and chips place (I did it better the week before at home).
Sunday we got up and dove to Hoover Dam. It's dam big! Went down to the turbines, etc. It was pretty cool. Then we drove home. So we had Monday free!
