Dental work

I forgot to mention that last week we went to the dentist. It was more of an ordeal for the girls. Moo loved it. Ellie has two cavities. Ashley got fitted for her expander, which was put in on Thursday. Michael had a tooth "helped" out. He was VERY excited for his $5 from the tooth fairy. Ash has had a harder transition to the expander, but it doing ok now. Yah for modern dentistry!

Present

Our Grandma Bluemlein loves to give books for events. She got Moo a great book about a stick for this birthday. Then she surprised him with a Calvin and Hobbes book from Grandpa's collection. Michael was so excited. We went someplace on Saturday and he sat in the car for 20 minutes  waiting for all of us while 'reading' his new book. Go books!

Happy birthday Michael

Michael is now 6! He started out with breakfast in bed. He wanted pancakes, scrambled eggs and potato chips.
Dad and the kids made a creeper cake from Minecraft
 Our birthday boy
Water gun! (Just as a note, he has gotten a water gun for his birthday for the past four years)
Snorkle equipment for the bigger pool we ordered.
 Water equipment for everyone!
 Snorkel away!
Michael, you are a great kid. You are generous and very thoughtful. You are a great conversationalist and love a good joke. You love to try new things and are always making noises or jumping around or poking things with a stick. We love you!

Happy birthday Ann

Now I am 45! It is a nice even age to be. I am planning on sitting around more and thinking about what I actually like and don't like to do. I remembered for sure yesterday that I do not want to work a 40-hour week anymore. Like chained to a desk. Yuck. Everything else I am working on.
For my big day, everyone came!
The swimming pools were very popular

The pies were very popular. We were going to wait for dinner, but then my momma reminded me that I was the birthday girl and could have pie whenever I wanted! So I had some - it was delicious.
We went to lunch. It was very popular.
Here I am on my 45th birthday. I am very grateful for the past 45 years and hope to make the next 45 just as wonderful!

Prep day

Wednesday we worked to get ready for the all the birthday bashes!
After a TON of searching (with friend in the car) and four wally worlds - we found some swimming pools for the backyard. Then everyone played.

I made my favorite five kinds of pie (from Harold and the Purple Crayon - and he left a hungry moose and a deserving porky pine to finish them).

Busy activity Tuesday

After laying around on Monday, we had a totally busy Tuesday. First I slept in.
Then I went for a bike ride.
Then we drove into SLC and got bread from my favorite new gluten free store.

Went to the cheap-starch Asian store.
We went to a park and played for a bit. It was hot. No one wanted to go into the splash pad!

We tried to go to a museum (which was closed) and then Michael really really wanted to go on this little train ride, so I said "what the heck!"

Then we went on over to the aviary (in the same park)

Ashley really wanted her picture taken with a peacock, but this one on the roof was the only one we could find.
Then we went to the SLC library and everyone had a great time (probably because it was so cool!)
Good thing we came to the library so everyone could play a tablet.
 I love books!
As a treat we went to Baskin Robbins!

Finally we headed to Seven Peaks. They obviously changed all the water, because the water was cold! But we still floated around. Michael and I went down a big water slide and he loved it.

But we took a picture but it didn't work out.
Then we went home and collapsed. That is a busy summer day! But we are all stocked up now.
