My hero

OK, here is the scoop: I have the BEST husband EVER!

Let me start at the beginning. Today is Ashley's hearing test in SLC. We dropped off Ellie (Thanks again Kellie, sorry I didn't stay and chat longer) and drove up there. They do a 'newborn hearing test' and things look fine - but apparently there is a little negative pressure there (she said it can mean a cold is coming or going). Then we went off to the booth. We tried a earphone-hearing test - but Ashley didn't quite get it. So they just did the booth one - where a noise (different loudness) comes out of different speakers and they check if you respond.

Now technically, she passed. But there were about eight times where I CLEARLY heard the noise and she did not respond at all. So we will see. They recommended we work on the earphones being on and the little game, and come back in two months. That test enables them to check the hearing in each ear individually with more control over the tone, pitch, etc. It helps see if you have a 'good' ear vs a 'bad' ear.

This morning my tummy was a bit rumbly, but I figured it was just the 14 hands-full of blueberries I ate last night. While we are at the hearing test, it was MORE rumblely. As we walk out of the book, my jaw locks up (code sign: throwing up is immiment).

I ask where the bathroom is and RUN. The door closes, the light is off, Ashley is crying outside. I am vomiting into the state Health Department toilet. I yell out 'open the door and turn on the light please!" Ashley comes in and checks me out. I am relieving myself of the lollipop I had on the way in. The light does get turned on. After a few minutes (because, hello, I had to go make another appointment and couldn't just sneak out), we head out and assure them everything is fine.

After all, when you have some food issue - after you throw up (if this is TMI -just stop reading) is that you feel WAY better after! And I did! But then on the way home, the rumblies started again. I dragged in to get Ellie and threw her in the car, careened home and threw everyone inside as I ran up the stairs to the bathroom.

Let's just say that the afternoon consisted of me laying VERY VERY still and trying to sleep (heck with the sleep expert), near the bathroom. Finally, at 4 p.m. I couldn't stand it anymore and called my sweetie, Josh, and (crying because I felt so bad), asked if he could come home early. He said, "I'll take care of it," and one hour and 20 minutes later he drove into the garage.

My hero swept up the girls, got them ready, took them to the store and got me ginger ale, rice cakes and vanilla ice cream. Then he made dinner. And fed it to them. Then he unloaded AND loaded the dishwasher. He is FABULOUS!!

I am now able to remain upright for more than 10 minutes. I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!
