Ashley has a job!!

Ashley got a job at Deseret Industries (D.I.)!! She started this week and does clothes, shoes and stuff. She works from 8-2 and get a 1/2 hour lunch. So far she reports her feet and even knees were killing her the first few days. Then she took my foot supports and reported only her feet hurt. We will get her 'fitted out' this week.

I told her I was going to come see her and she was like 'Mom, you know I can't stand around and talk to you for like 20 minutes!' So I went in (and secretly took this picture), then I walked up and said 'Hey random D.I. lady!'  She was totally embarrassed - 'Mom!'

She is very excited for Monday, her day off. We are going to get her some foot supports, lots of treats and maybe a new lunch box.

Honey days

We harvested our first box of honey! We got about two pails and it is very good. There are still several more on the hives and they are busy making honey (and baby bees). You put the frames in this spinny thing and it centrifuges the honey out. It keeps the comb intact so the bees don't have to waste energy setting up the frame to put honey in again. Life is good.

Finally, after 17 years!!!

I got to go to Dugway!! Yep, it was FINALLY Family Day again at Josh's work place and Michael and I headed out. (The last Family Day was the day after we moved here and we're like 'Ha! It's an annual thing, we'll just go next year", haha).

Anyway I was SUPER excited to see where my honey disappears to for 51 hours a week (well he works 4/10's and commutes two hours a day).

Here is a laser. It cost about $1 million

Here is the drone he remote-controls and takes pictures while they blow things up. This is Mike with a laser, it also cost about $1 million. Another laser, a mirror thingie - you can see yourself where ever you stand  - pretty cool.

Next two are Josh's office with his two fancy computer screens and a bunch of stuff he is working on.

Selfie in the parking lot. Another laser (they have a BIG workshop with all that stuff, a big crane thing, a storage area up above, etc).

The wind tunnel. They can suck wind in and out to control how far their chemical releases go/etc. They spent a lot of time there during testing season. Then sometimes they go outside for more tests. The test range is VERY VERY big. Dugway is technically the size of Rhode Island!

Michael in a HumVee. He was very excited to sit in one. The other one is the one that 'accidently' got blown up when a Kamakize missle hit it while Josh was remote-control driving it. Ooops!

Us outside a blasting tunnel made of granite. They blow stuff up in there.

Josh had to 'do some math' and there was no board in his office, so he went in the break work and did 'some math' on the board. He is a smartie!

Michael hanging from the crane thingie. And a final picture of Josh putting the drone in its huge case.

I had a very good time and saw lots of cool stuff. It was hot. I love my sweetie!! He works so hard for us.
