Thursday Ashley and I went to the audiologist. Ashley and I were having a great bonding time rolling around on the chair, but after waiting 20+ minutes, I stuck my head into the hallway. During whole time, from the next room was the sound of like a pressure washer and some poor kid yelling "No!!!" "OUCH!" "AHAHAH" "Let me up!!" When I looked at the MA, she said calmly "we had an emergency foreign extraction from a nasal cavity." Hum, I guess that explains it all.
Ashley did great. She can hear fine and has no long-term problems with her ears. The doc said 'If a child can hear, they should be able to talk." He thinks she will be totally caught up in a few months. We are suppose to keep talking to her in complete sentences and Ellie is suppose to talk to her too.
Here are the dollies going for a walk:
I have noticed that Ashley is eating a LOT lately - probably trying to put a few pounds on (lucky!). So finally I moved some crackers down on the pantry shelf for her and showed her right where they were. I gave her one and she clearly said "Thank you." Yah! I think she is really settling in more and we are enjoying her more and more. I also think I will try to spend a little one-on-one time with each girl each day.
Daddy got home early tonight and we went and got new algae eating fishes for the tank. We also plan to make cookies tonight -yum!
