Other stuff

You can go back to the library!! The Tooele library opened for browsing - YAH!!! Michael and I went one day and everyone got a new book - happiness!

Also, Michael needed  a picture of me reading.

Ellie had a two-day dance recital at the high school and Ashley and I went on Friday. She was like a star! Ellie and her partner danced with in the front and when it ended they were dancing as the last couple on stage!

New truck!

We have been looking for a truck to be there for our house-fixing-up-needs. When we went to Montana, Josh's dad had acquired a truck. It looked to be a lot of the things we wanted, and was affordable! Josh flew up to Montana last weekend and drove it home. It does need major inside work (a dog did quite a number on the seats, etc). It needs much cleaning. Josh had already ordered parts, etc. I am thinking of a name, ideas?

Ashley on a horse!

Ellie had a dance rehearsal on Wednesday, so I took Ashley along for a riding lesson! She rode bareback, and every trotted once. She said, "Mom, he was going so fast!" It is true, it seems very fast. She said she would like to go riding more. We will see.

Ducks - not ours

Our fabulous friends, the Bullocks, got a duck for their mini-farm. They wanted to get a few more so their little friend would have friends to swim around with. Also, ducks chicks are hard to find. So I went and got some chicks and kept them until they could pick them up. They were very welcomed at our house. Francie said we could share custody!

COVID shot!

I  got my first COVID shot on Monday, then Wednesday on I have been so stiff and achy. Ouch. And stiff, did I mention that one? So I am set up for  my next one in three weeks.

Miracle

Here I went and bought five bags of fruit and veggie in the middle of winter. What a blessing that is.

Snuggles

Sometimes when I am home alone before the kids come home, I take a little  nappie. And Romeo likes to join me by snuggling up right beside me:

4-H stuff

4-H has started having some stuff. So I signed the kids up for the Super Saturday. Ashley went to help with mask-dying (she is on the 4-H Team Council). We went to see lambs and horses. The final round was to make salsa on a bike! It was pretty nummy!

Yard updates

The bees are settling in, but they don't like to so cold as it has been. Here is a "bee bus" the container they came to us in. We moved all the garden dirt to the side of the house, and I will stick the rhubarb, lilies and some garden stuff there for this summer. How do you feel about an inground pool and just take over the entire backyard? With  a hot tub, of course. And here is my little lilac! Mom gave it to me a few years ago and it has been moved more than once, but look how wonderful it looks this year!

Easter part 2

So the Bluemlein girls got together for Easter part 2! There was eating, candy and much laughing. Holly was an excellent hostess and had a wonderful candy hunt after Grandma's Easter Lesson. Also, here is a new sister picture!

Tulips!

As per our annual tradition, cousin Kristen and I went to the Thanksgiving Point. It was sunny, but still a bit cold. It has been a cold spring and many of the tulips were still coming up. But there were a ton of daffodils! We also have a delightful lunch getting caught up on stuff. Thanks Kristen!

If I am a stay-at-home mom, why am I always in the car?

So let me just write down what I have done today:

3:31 - Wake up. Take Josh to the airport to fly to Montana to get our 'new' truck!

    5 a.m.  - Find out Wal-Mart is not open 24/7 anymore

5:13 - Go to the gym

6:07 - Go to Macey's to get doughnuts for the kids, and for the Bullocks  - since Michael is going home with them and staying until 9 p.m.

      6:15- Find out Wal-Mart opens at 7

6: 20 - Get ready for the day

         6:40 - Read my scriptures

7 - Wake up the kids. Take the dog for a walk. Everyone gets up to a doughnut. Do the dishes

7:45 - Take the kids to school

8:15 - Go, finally, to Wal-Mart. Try to find shorts/shirts that will fit Michael. Find yoga pants and long comfy pants for me. Also a potential pair of PJ's. Get milk, tooth-cleaner-outters, etc.

9 - Lay in bed for three hours

12-  Get up and eat lunch with Ellie.

12:30 - Go get Ashley. Drive to West Valley and:

                        1) Went to bank to get cash to pay for my sewing machine repair guy

1.5) Go to D.I. to return dress and look for more. Ellie got invited to an ROTC dinner and needs to wear a very nice dress. Found THREE!! She liked them and all looked good. I found a shirt and two skirts!

                        2) Go to my campus to show Ashley and check to see if anyone has finished their midterms (due 6 weeks ago).

                        3) Get Ashley a triple-chocolate custard from Culvers

                         4) Go pick up sewing machine. Apparently I have been using the wrong bobbin? Oups.

                        5) Go to Costco and buy two more flower pots for my sidewalk to distract me from the torn-up yard.

                        6) Drive home.

3:47 - Arrive at home so Ashley can put on her make up for her rehearsal.

4:17 - Drop off Ashley at rehearsal

4:25 - Get Ellie Panda Express and drop her off at the high school for the mattress-sale set up. Then at 5:45 she will go to the auditorium to start her warm-up for her dance performance.

4:45 - Go back to Wal Mart and get flowers for Ellie for tonight

5:02 - Go pick up Ashley

5:15 - Take Ashley to get Panda Express. I go next door and get a Marco's cauliflower pizza. Not bad.

5:30 - We have 50 minutes to eat, sit on the couch, I wrote this, etc. Also find out we can still go today, even though I accidently bought tickets for last night (and you don't want to go what happened yesterday after school).

6:30 - Go to high school and watch Ellie

9:28 p.m. - Go to Bullocks and get Michael

            9: 48 - drive home with Michael

10 - Collapse and all agree not to get up until 10 a.m. on Saturday

This is not a normal day, but certainly interesting!

The garage is also gone

So also, I am never going to be able to park in the garage for like 19 years. These boards are from the old greenhouse. We got our bees ( 2 hives) this weekend also and need to make the spot for them. They are eager to get out and start pollinating!

I did get a garden bed for the summer

We moved the dirt from the garden beds over to the side of the house, so I can have some gardening this summer. Yah! There was much complaining by the children.

Of course, not to be bored...

Also this weekend, Ashley had a dance rehearsal and the marvelous Jensen's invited us up to party at their new homestead! There was a fire, of course.

Down it goes

Here they go. No one was injured and Nancy's roof got a slight dent in the trim. The chickens were scared poop-less.

And thus it begins...

We have started on the yard. After more than a week of texting and calling, no tree service would get back to us, so the fabulous Bullocks assured us they could take down the backyard trees. Just keep in mind, these trees are the reason I bought this house (shade in the afternoons).

Failed adventure

As you know, last year was a bust for adventures. We had to go to SLC last week and I was all excited to remember there is part of the planetarium you can go to for free! However, we got there are you have to have a ticket even to get it. And apparently they sell out like seconds after they are released. Whatever. We tried.

My crafty abilities expand

Guess what! I am working on some crafties for the house = updating the upstairs bathrooms right now.

So I went to Home Depot yesterday, all by myself, and got supplies! Man, I am getting smarter! The bathroom looks nice (well, it is not perfect and it probably bothers Josh a lot - but he is living with it!)

Go me!

Day 4

Papa Smurf was busy and Susan didn't realize we were coming (sorry) and had to go to work.

We were headed to Glacier National Park - but stopped at the Hungry Horse Dam  first. It was very big! We did not throw Romeo off the top. There was a clear, cold spring with water that we filled up on.

Not much in the park was open, but we went to see a gorgeous lake and mountains. Check out what Ellie wanted to do.

We also went to our favorite bookstore and got two boxes of books. The girls and I went to Baskin Robbins twice. Hehe.
