Who remembers their first locker?

Ellie (and her parents) went to her middle school orientation last week. It was VERY exciting. She got her schedule, we went around to her classes and .....got her locker!!! She traded out for a bottom locker so she could reach. We got all of our fancy stuff moved in and da-da!
(also, how many scientists does it take to open a locker? - apparently this one was tough to get started - dad had to help)

Great deal!

So I went to ask the nice produce manager at Macey's what the pear season was looking like and he said "oh, so you want pears? how many?" and I said a lot, maybe even a case.  And he said he could get me a great deal on a case. So he went back and brought one out and let me have it for $29.00! A 45 pound case! So of course I got two cases.
Then I went to work. By day two it was obvious that I did not have enough time/dryers and I sent out the word. Two friends were available and McKenna lend me her HUGE Cabela's dryer!! It only took one and a half dryer loads to finish the whole thing in her 12 rack wonder. And a few in the other dryers.
You know, they say civilization was founded on dried food - easy to carry and light, to feed moving people (and armies).
Go fruit!
